Our Mission: Preserving Bakersfield's Law Enforcement Heritage
The specific purpose of the Bakersfield Police Historical Society (BPHS) is to preserve the history and traditions of the Bakersfield Police Department. We honor those who have served and aim to enhance knowledge and understanding of the department through partnerships with the community. This is achieved by providing education, research, publications, exhibitions, and collections that tell the story of law enforcement in Bakersfield.
Connecting with Our Community
The Society actively connects with the Bakersfield community by collecting, preserving, and sharing the history of the Bakersfield Police Department. Through community events, educational outreach, and partnerships with local schools and organizations, we help residents better understand the department’s role in shaping the city’s past and present.
